Why sponsor this child?
Rosika is is very courageous for a 7 year old girl. She has been sick since birth with internal bleeding in her stomach. Both she and her sister have been out of school for almost a year because her parents have had to spend so much on her treatment that they can no longer afford education expenses.
According to Rosika’s doctors, the bleeding problem can be permanently treated and she wouldn’t have to live through the pain, but treatment costs her poor family a fortune that they do not possess. Rosika’s father said the cost is in the range of $500, which he struggles to earn in a year of farm labor or to find someone who can provide a loan. Instead, he pays $23 per doctor’s visit when Rosika is in pain.
Rosika’s father says: “I never wanted to take my daughters out of school, but we had to do what is best for everybody in the family.” He is working hard to get Rosika the treatment that she needs and still wishes for his daughter to attend school at the same time. Rosika regrets that her sister had to sacrifice school because of her illness.
Rosika loves to read in her time out of school and is optimistic about going back to school soon and fulfilling her dream of becoming a teacher. Your contribution can ensure a brighter future for this little girl and her family.
