Why sponsor this child?
Bhawana is a 6 year old girl who wants to become a nurse. Her father is mentally disabled after suffering from a coma as a child from which he never fully recovered. He is unable to plough the field because the illness has affected both of his hands. Her mother works in an incense factory and earns Rs.200 ($2) per day to feed the family and pay for Bhawana and her older brothers’ education.
Bhawana currently studies in a government school. Bhawana’s grandmother says: “Bhawana cried a lot one day and said that she wanted to go to a boarding school. Her mother tried to send her to a boarding school but she was taken out in just few days because there was no way they could pay the tuition.” Her teachers say that she is a very bright student.
Your support can ease Bhawana’s struggle to obtain quality education and give her hope that her dream of becoming a nurse and caring for people like her father can come true.
