I want to be a Doctor
Why sponsor this child?
At 8 years of age, Samjhana Tamang is very ambitious and knows what her future goals and aspirations are. When asked what she would like to be when she grows up, she replied with conviction, “I want to be a doctor”. Though she is an only child, her family's dire financial situation makes it difficult for her to realize her dreams. Her father works hard in a furniture store to support the family, earning a meager daily wage of $2.00. As his income is barely enough to support his family’s basic needs, Samjhana's education is often overlooked.
Her dream of getting a good education and becoming a doctor remains a dream and a luxury that her family cannot afford. However, with her resilience and drive to become successful, she is patiently waiting for the opportunity.
